Terms of use

Draft for the pilot, pending legal review. Shown in English until the final text is ready.

The rules for using RailUp during the pilot. Payment services are provided by a licensed partner; RailUp acts as its agent.

Who we are

RailUp is operated by RailUp Technologies, S.L. (Barcelona, Spain; tax ID pending registration). Contact: privacy@rail.molasroca.com.

RailUp is not a bank. Payment and e-money services are provided by a licensed payment or e-money institution (to be named before launch). RailUp acts as its registered agent, and your funds are safeguarded by that institution, separately from RailUp's own money. The institution's own e-money terms apply in addition to these terms.

The pilot

RailUp is in a closed pilot. Until we tell you otherwise in the app, payments are simulated or run in test environments: no real money moves, and balances shown are not real funds.

Your account

You must be at least 18 and live in the European Economic Area. One person, one personal account.

You sign in with a passkey (Face ID, fingerprint or device PIN); there is no password. Keep your devices locked and tell us straight away if you think someone else got into your account. Signing in on a new device with an email code pauses money movement until a passkey is added there.

Sending, receiving or holding money needs identity verification, as anti-money-laundering law requires. We can limit, suspend or close an account where the law requires it or to protect you or others from fraud.

Fees

Payments between individuals: free. Currency conversion: the mid-market rate with no markup, plus a conversion fee shown before you confirm (0.35% for major currencies, 0.6% standard, 1.0% digital assets, 1.5% restricted currencies).

Businesses pay 1.0% per ticket over instant bank rails and 1.5% over card schemes, once per ticket, however many people share it. Every fee is shown before you confirm.

Payments

A payment is authorised when you confirm it with your passkey or your wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay). Check the amount and the recipient before you confirm: instant payments usually can't be reversed. After every payment you get a receipt in Activity.

If a payment went wrong or you didn't authorise it, tell us as soon as possible and at the latest within 13 months; your rights under PSD2 apply.

Ending the relationship

You can delete your account at any time in Account → Privacy and your data. We can end it with two months' notice, or immediately where the law requires it. Records that the law obliges us to keep are kept for the required period (see the privacy policy).

Changes and law

We tell you about changes to these terms at least two months in advance; you can close your account free of charge before they apply.

Spanish law applies. You can go to the courts of your place of residence, and you keep every right that consumer law in your country gives you.
